"Venite Psalm 95:1-7 Come, let us sing to the Lord; * let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving * and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, * and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth, * and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, * and his hands have molded the dry land. Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee, * and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. * Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice! or Psalm 95, page 724 Jubilate Psalm 100 Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands; * serve the Lord with gladness and come before his presence with a song. 82 Morning Prayer II Know this: The Lord himself is God; * he himself has made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise; * give thanks to him and call upon his Name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; * and his faithfulness endures from age to age." Let us wonder that we each return to this recognition of the other. let's be grateful of the presence of the other because in you I am - separate and still reaching towards another. Then may be sung or said [Alleluia.] Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us; Therefore let us keep the feast. [Alleluia.] In Lent, Alleluia is omitted, and may be omitted at other times except during Easter Season. In place of, or in addition to, the preceding, some other suitable anthem may be used. Facing the people, the Celebrant says the following Invitation The Gifts of God for the People of God. 364 Holy Eucharist II and may add Take them in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on him in your hearts by faith, with thanksgiving. The ministers receive the Sacrament in both kinds, and then immediately deliver it to the people. The Bread and the Cup are given to the communicants with these words The Body (Blood) of our Lord Jesus Christ keep you in everlasting life. [Amen.] or with these words The Body of Christ, the bread of heaven. [Amen.] The Blood of Christ, the cup of salvation. [Amen.] During the ministration of Communion, hymns, psalms, or anthems may be sung. When necessary, the Celebrant consecrates additional bread and wine, using the form on page 408. After Communion, the Celebrant says Let us pray. Celebrant and People Eternal God, heavenly Father, you have graciously accepted us as living members of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, and you have fed us with spiritual food in the Sacrament of his Body and Blood. Send us now into the world in peace, and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen. or the following" Overlay: I am broken. I am hungry. I am alone missing the warmth of surrounding a table, of sitting next to someone across from someone. I must eat, I must be fed, but do I have to do this alone? Oh! You are home, in our communal kitchen digging in the fridge for something to satisfy the hunger of evening. I will join you, I will rummage through the cupboards in part because I need food, but in part because I need you. I need your presence, a body standing with me processing the day the week and tending to the perpetual physical need for food. You offer to share your meal with me and I decide this say needs some wine. So I open the bottle and pour two glasses and we partake and talk leaning against the kitchen counters in the midst of smells and the actions of cooking the chopping the back and forth between stove ad counter matching th back and forth of the conversation. And when dinner is ready I am already fed, in a way, because I was seen and held by you in those moments between carrots and sauce and noodles and wine consecrated through the steam and the stirring.</image:caption>
